Ingredients list for Dudhi Halwa

  • 1 medium Bottle gourd peeled seeded and grated
  • 3 cups Milk
  • 3-4 tablespoons Pure ghee
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • 10 Cashewnuts
  • 10 Raisins
  • 10 Pistachios

Method

  1. Heat the milk and cook till reduced to around two cups. Heat ghee in a pan, add the grated gourd and sauté for five to seven minutes.
  2. Add reduced milk and cook, stirring continuously, till all the liquid content has evaporated. Add sugar and green cardamom powder.
  3. Mix thoroughly. Serve hot or cold garnished with cashewnuts, raisins and pistachios.
