Chilli Chicken Tart

Ingredients list for Chilli Chicken Tart

  • 400 grams Boneless chicken cut into small cubes
  • 1-2 Green chilli finely chopped
  • 8-12 tart shells
  • to taste Salt
  • 1½ teaspoons Cornflour/ corn starch
  • to taste Crushed black peppercorns
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 inch Celery finely chopped
  • 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
  • ½ medium Green capsicum cut into thin strips
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1-2 stalks Spring onion greens finely chopped

Method

  1. Take chicken in a bowl. Add salt, ½ tablespoon cornflour and crushed peppercorns and mix well.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick pan. Add chicken mixture and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Heat remaining oil in another non-stick pan. Add celery and sauté for 30 seconds. Add ginger and sauté for 30 seconds. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  4. Add green chilies and sauté for 30 seconds. Add sautéed chicken, mix and cook for 1 minute. Add capsicum and mix. Add soy sauce and 2-3 tablespoons water, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Mix remaining cornflour with some water to make a smooth slurry. Add slurry to chicken mixture along with salt, mix and cook till it thickens. Add ½ of the spring onion greens, mix and cook for 1 minute.
  6. Place tart shells on a serving platter. Put some chili chicken mixture in each shell and top with remaining spring onion greens and serve immediately.
