Tie up the flour tightly in a muslin cloth like a potli, place it in a shallow vessel and steam in a cooker for about ten to fifteen minutes. Take the potli out and set aside to cool. The maida will set like a hard ball. Break the maida ball to small pieces, powder them and sieve into a bowl. Add the sesame seeds and salt to taste and mix. Add sufficient water to make a soft dough. Put a portion of the dough in a chakli press and shape into round chaklis on butter paper. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry the chaklis, a few at a time, till light golden. Drain and place them on an absorbent paper. Store in an airtight container when cooled.
