Corn was indigenous to America, but is now grown throughout the world. It is used as a vegetable, briefly boiled or roasted or eaten with butter. And it would also interest you to know that the favourite popcorn, made by popping the small corn kernels, is a wholesome cereal food and is easily digested. Besides this, corn sees its use in various other ways – salads, soups, subzis and even sweets too!

Ingredients for Black Pepper Malpua Recipe

  • Crushed black peppercorns 1/2 teaspoon

  • Milk thickened 1 1/2 cup

  • Refined flour (maida) 1 tablespoon

  • Semolina (rawa/suji) 1 tablespoon

  • Khoya/mawa grated 1 tablespoon

  • Ghee to deep fry

  • Saffron flavoured sugar syrup of one string consistency

Method

Step 1

In a bowl mix together thickened milk, refined flour, semolina, khoya and crushed black peppercorns and whisk well.

Step 2

Heat ghee in a non stick pan.

Step 3

Drop ladleful of the batter into the ghee and fry, turning sides, till golden brown.

Step 4

Drain and dip in the sugar syrup. Transfer into a serving plate and serve.
