Add onion, cumin seeds, green cardamoms, cloves and bay leaves and sauté till the onion turns golden brown in colour. Add red chilli powder and sauté for half a minute. Add soaked rice along with three cups of water and salt. Cook till the rice is done and all the water is absorbed. Serve hot.
