Ingredients list for Bhartewala Keema

  • 2 large Brinjals Roasted and peeled
  • 300 grams Mutton mince
  • 3 tablespoons Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 tablespoons Garlic chopped
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • 2 medium Tomatoes chopped

  1. Heat oil in a non stick pan, add cumin seeds and saute.
  2. Put the brinjals in a blender jar and hand blend it slightly.
  3. When cumin seeds begin to change colour, add garlic and saute till they get slightly burnt. Add onion and ginger and saute for 1 minute. Add mutton mince and salt and saute till well browned.
  4. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder and mix well. Continue to saute for 2 minutes.
  5. Add 1½ cups water and mix. Add green chillies, cover and cook till mince gets cooked.
  6. Put the brinjal stem in the pan with the mince and cook. When mince is almost done, add tomatoes and cover and cook till mince is completely done.
  7. Chop some fresh coriander and add along with brinjals and mix well. Cook for 4-5 minutes.
  8. Serve hot.
