Ingredients list for Besan Ka Dhokla

  • 1 cup Gram Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Green chilli paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 tablespo Oil
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Fruit salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 4-5 Curry leaves
  • 2 Green chillies slit
  • 2 tablespoons coriander leaves chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Scraped coconut

Method

  1. Mix gram flour, ginger paste, green chilli paste, turmeric powder, salt, sugar, half of the oil in a bowl. Add yogurt and mix well.
  2. Add half cup water, fruit salt and mix well.Grease a thali and pour the prepared batter.
  3. Steam for twenty minutes.Remove and allow to cool.
  4. Heat remaining oil in a non stick pan.
  5. Add mustard seeds, once they splutter, add curry leaves.
  6. Add green chillies, one cup of water.
  7. Pour this tempering over the dhokla.
  8. Cut into desired shapes and serve garnished with coriander leaves and coconut.
