Ingredients

  • Bajra soaked
    1 cup
  • Split green gram with skin (chilkewali moong dal) soaked
    1/2 cup
  • Pure ghee
    1+ to serv cup
  • Cumin seeds
    1 teaspoon
  • Cloves
    7-8
  • Ginger grated
    1 1/2 tablespoons
  • Green chilli broken
    1
  • Turmeric powder
    1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt
    to taste

Method

Step 1


Drain and put bajra in a chopper jar and crush. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds, cloves, ginger and sauté till fragrant.

Step 2


Add bajra and chilkewali moong dal and mix well and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add green chilli, turmeric powder and salt. Sauté for 2 minutes. Add 4 cups water and mix.

Step 3


Put the lid on and cook under pressure till 4-5 whistles are given out. Let it stand till pressure reduces completely. Serve hot with ghee or yogurt.
