American Sev Puri

Ingredients list for American Sev Puri

  • 8 Canape cups
  • as required Sev
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 1-2 Fresh red chillies finely chopped
  • ¾ cup Corn kernels boiled
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh mint leaves chopped
  • for garnishing Fresh coriander leaves chopped, 1 tablespoon +
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Crushed black peppercorns
  • 1 tablespoon Sweet chilli sauce
  • ½ teaspoon Chaat masala
  • ½ tablespoon lemon juice

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180º C. Line a baking tray with silicon mat.
  2. Place canapés on the lined baking tray. Place the baking tray in preheated oven and bake for 2-3 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.
  3. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add onion and sauté till translucent. Add fresh red chillies and sauté for 30 seconds.
  4. Add corn kernels, mix and cook for a minute. Add mint leaves, coriander leaves, salt and crushed peppercorns, mix and cook for 30 seconds.
  5. Add sweet chilli sauce and mix. Add chaat masala, mix and cook for a minute. Add lemon juice and mix. Remove from heat and cool.
  6. Place the baked canapés on the worktop, put some onion-corn mixture in each and top with some sev.
  7. Serve immediately garnished with coriander leaves.
