Ingredients for Almond Coated Prawns Recipe

  • Prawns shelled and deveined 20-25 medium

  • Almonds blanched, peeled and crushed 1 cup

  • Gram flour (besan) 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Carom seeds (ajwain) a pinch

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Green chillies chopped 2-3

  • Garlic paste 1 tablespoon

  • Ginger paste 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh mint leaves 8-10

  • Vinegar 1 tablespoon

  • Oil for deep-frying

Method

Step 1

Heat sufficient oil in a deep pan. Place prawns in a bowl, add gram flour, crushed almonds, salt, carom seeds, red chilli powder, green chillies, garlic paste, ginger paste.

Step 2

Tear mint leaves and add along with vinegar and mix well till all the prawns are well coated. Add very little water and mix.

Step 3

Drop the prawns into hot oil, one by one, and deep fry till prawns are cooked. Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot.
