How many times have we thought rice is a blessing? We use it for holy purposes but we also can pressure up a quick pulao or khichdi when hunger pangs are drumming away! This is one grain that is about 98% percent digestible. In India we are familiar with Basmati, Patna or brown rice but it is also available as Italian Rice and Glutinous Rice which is popular in Chinese and Japanese cuisines.

Cook time : 16-20 minutes

Ingredients for Turkish Lentil Rice Recipe

  • Parboiled rice wash and wiped 2 cups

  • Lentils 1/2 cup

  • Butter 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Pressure cook the lentils for four whistles or till get soft and get mashed.

Step 2

Heat butter in a non stick pan, add risoni and fry them till brown in color. Add the parboiled rice and saute for two minutes.

Step 3

Transfer the rice along with boiled lentils in a pressure cooker. Add salt and sufficient water.

Step 4

Cook till three whistles. Serve hot.
