Tamatar aur Matar ka Pulao

Ingredients list for Tamatar aur Matar ka Pulao

  • 1 1/2 cups Tamatar Puree soaked
  • 1 1/2 cups Basmati Rice
  • 1/2 cup Green peas
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • a pinch Asafoetida
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • for garnish Fresh coriander leaves chopped

Method

  1. Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and sauté for a minute. Add asafoetida and tomato puree, mix well, cover and cook till the oil surfaces.
  2. Add rice, red chilli powder, salt and garam masala powder and mix well. Add two and a half cups water, stir to mix and bring to a boil. Cover and cook on medium heat for ten minutes.
  3. Add green peas and mix well. Cover and cook till the rice is completely done. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
