Ingredients list for Spiced Chicken

  • 750 grams Chicken on the bone cut into pieces
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 5-6 Cloves
  • 6-8 Green cardamoms
  • 6-8 Black peppercorns
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
  • 1-2 Green chillies
  • 1 tablespo for garnishing Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 medium Onion sliced

Method

  1. Dry-roast coriander seeds, cumin seeds, cloves, cardamoms, peppercorns and cinnamon in a non-stick pan till fragrant.
  2. Grind together roasted spices, ginger, garlic and broken green chillies with some water and coriander leaves to a smooth paste.
  3. Take chicken in a bowl. Add ground paste and mix. Add salt and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 30 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add onion and sauté till golden. Add marinated chicken and mix. Add some water, mix, cover and cook till the chicken is done.
  5. Serve hot garnished with a coriander sprig.
