Blend together shrimps, bean sprouts, spring onions, carrot and sweet potato to a coarse paste. Mix gram flour, baking powder, salt and green chillies in a bowl. Add the beaten egg, one cup water and the ground mixture and mix well. Drop small portions of the batter into hot oil and deep-fry the fritters till light brown and crisp all around. Drain on absorbent paper. Arrange them on a serving plate and serve hot.
