  • Chicken mince
  • 4 Burger buns
  • 4 Green chillies chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • 2 medium Onions cut into rings
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • as required Mustard sauce
  • as required Tomato ketchup
  • 2 medium Tomatoes
  • 1 Cucumber
  • a few leaves Iceberg lettuce

Method

  1. Preheated oven to 180°C. Halve the burger buns horizontally. Keep the buns in the oven and toast them till slightly crisp.

Put prunes in a chopper jar. Add green chillies, chicken mince, salt and pepper powder and process. Transfer into a bowl.Add chopped onion and mix well.

  2. Heat extra virgin olive oil in a non stick pan. Dampen your palms, take a portion of the chicken mixture and shape into round patty, slightly bigger than the circumference of the burger bun.
  3. Place it on the pan and cook. When the underside is done, turn it over and cook till the other side is equally done. Similarly cook the remaining burgers.

Put onions rings in the oil remaining in the pan and sauté till soft. Apply some mustard sauce on one half of the bun and tomato ketchup on the other.

  4. Slice tomatoes and cucumber into thin roundels. Place ice berg lettuce on lower half of the buns, place a patty on each, arrange the sautéed onion rings over. Arrange the tomato and cucumber roundels on the other half of the bun and serve.
