Using a slicer, thinly slice 2 potatoes directly into hot oil. Deep-fry basket-shaped potato slices in hot oil till crisp and lightly browned. Drain on absorbent paper. Mix ¼ cup water and salt to taste in a bowl. Sprinkle this to the hot oil. Using a slicer, thinly slice potatoes directly into hot oil. Deep-fry till crisp and lightly browned.
