Ingredients list for Peas and Raw Banana Subzi

  • 1 cup Green Peas boiled and lightly crushed
  • 3 Raw Banana peeled and cut into ½ inch cubes
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoons Green chilli paste
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 cup Scraped coconut
  • 1 teaspoon Dried mango powder (amchur)
  • 1/2 cup Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped

  1. Apply salt to banana cubes and put in a bowl. Steam in a steamer for five to seven minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and let them change colour. Add chilli paste and mix well and sauté.
  3. Add crushed peas, mix and sauté for two minutes. Add coriander powder, cumin powder and turmeric powder and mix well.
  4. Add salt and banana cubes and mix well. Add coconut and mix. Cover and cook for three to four minutes. Add dried mango powder and mix well.
  5. Add coriander leaves and mix well.
  6. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot with chapatti or phulka.
