Ingredients list for Paneer Jalfrazie

  • 250 grams Cottage Cheese cut into 1”cubes
  • 2 medium Tomatoes roughly chopped
  • Oil 2 tablespoons + to deep fry
  • 2 medium Green capsicums cut into thin strips
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Fennel powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 2 medium Tomatoes pureed
  • 1 tablespoon Tomato sauce
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Coriander leaves chopped

  1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep fry the cottage cheese till golden brown. Drain on an absorbent paper and set aside.
  2. Heat two tablespoons oil in a non stick pan. Add onions, capsicum, ginger, garlic and sauté till onions are golden brown..
  3. Add turmeric powder, fennel powder and garam masala. Sauté for half minute. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and salt. Cook for five to seven minutes.
  4. Add half cup water and mix well. Add cottage cheese pieces and simmer for ten minutes or until the gravy is thick.
  5. Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
