Ingredients list for Nutty Apple Rings

  • + for garnishing Groundnut (cashewnuts, almonds, pistachios), 2-3 tablespoons
  • 2 medium Apples
  • ½ Lemon
  • + 2 tablespoons Butter for greasing
  • 2 tablespoons Refined flour (maida)
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon powder
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar/jaggery

Method

  1. Preheat oven at 180ºC. Grease a baking tray with butter.
  2. Trim the tops and core the apples. Cut into thick slices and rub them with lemon.
  3. Combine nuts, brown sugar, butter and refined flour in a bowl and mix well. Add cinnamon powder and mix again.
  4. Place apple slices on the greased baking tray, fill each with nutty mixture and spread some on top.
  5. Put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
  6. Serve hot garnished with nuts.
