Ingredients list for Lacquered Nuts

  • ½ cup Cashewnuts
  • ½ cup Almonds
  • for deep-frying Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh rosemary sprigs, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Heat sufficient oil in a pan.
  2. To prepare spice mix, combine garlic powder, onion powder, rosemary, paprika, castor sugar and salt in a bowl and mix well.
  3. Deep-fry almonds in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper and sprinkle some spice mix on top. Similarly, prepare cashewnuts. Set aside to cool.
  4. Store in an air-tight jar and serve.
