Add asafoetida, cumin seeds, salt and some water and mix well. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Adjust water, mix well, cover and cook for 2-3 minutes. Serve hot with steamed rice topped with a dollop of ghee.
