By Sanjeev Kapoor 07 Mar 2019 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Bread slices, Oil Cuisine Indian Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 6-10 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Jain Bread Upma 6-8 Bread slices 1-2 tablespoons Oil 1 teaspoon Split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal) 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds 1-2 Green chillies chopped 4-5 Curry leaves 1 medium Green capsicum chopped 1-2 medium Tomatoes chopped to taste Salt 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon Lemon juice 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped Method Heat oil in a non-stick wok, add split black gram and sauté till they turn a light golden. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add green chillies and curry leaves and sauté. Add capsicum and sauté well for about two to three minutes. Cut bread into one inch cubes and set aside Add tomatoes to the pan and sauté for about two minutes. Add salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder and mix well. Add half cup water, mix and let it boil. Add bread cubes, lemon juice and one tablespoon coriander leaves and mix well. Cook for minute. Transfer into a serving dish, garnish with remaining coriander and serve hot.
