Ingredients list for Honeyed Fig And Walnut Cookies

  • 1 3/4 cups Refined Flour
  • 6 tablespoons Dried Figs
  • 15 Dried figs finely chopped
  • 10-12 Walnut kernels chopped
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Clove powder
  • a pinch Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Soda bicarbonate
  • 10 Dried dates (chuhare)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 175 grams Rolled oats

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180˚C. Grease a baking tray. Take butter in a bowl and cream it.
  2. Add dried figs, sugar and continue to cream. Add honey and mix.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together vanilla essence, cinnamon and clove powders, pinch of salt, soda bicarbonate and chopped dates.
  4. In a third bowl break the eggs and beat well.
  5. Add the mixture from the second bowl (date and spice mixture) and mix.
  6. Add the butter mixture and mix well. Add walnuts, flour and mix.
  7. Add rolled oats and mix. Put tablespoons of batter onto the greased baking tray keeping enough distance between each spoonful.
  8. Bake at 180°C for twenty to twenty five minutes. When done remove onto a wire rack to cool before serving.
