Ingredients for Honey Grilled Chicken Sandwiches Recipe

  • Boneless chicken breasts 2

  • Multigrain bread slice 8

  • Honey 2 teaspoons

  • Orange zest grated 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Crushed black peppercorns 1 teaspoon

  • Mixed herbs chopped fresh 2 teaspoons

  • Garlic cloves finely chopped 8-10

  • Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Mayonnaise 1/4 cup

  • Butter as required


Step 1

Put chicken breasts in a bowl, add honey, orange zest, salt, crushed peppercorns, herbs, garlic and chilli flakes, mix well and set aside to marinate for half an hour.

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 180° C.

Step 3

Heat oil in a non-stick grill pan. Place the chicken breasts in it and cook, turning sides, till grill marks appear on both sides.

Step 4

Wrap the chicken in aluminium foil and place on a baking tray. Put the tray in the preheated oven and cook for ten to fifteen minutes. Remove from oven, cool and shred.

Step 5

Mix the shredded chicken and mayonnaise in bowl. Adjust seasoning.

Step 6

Butter four bread slices. Place the chicken filling on each and cover with the remaining bread slices. Apply little butter on the outside of the sandwiches.

Step 7

Heat a non-stick sandwich griller. Place the prepared sandwiches in it and grill till crisp.

Step 8

Cut into triangles and serve hot.
