Ingredients list for Haldi aur Mirch ka Achar

  • 200 grams Fresh Turmeric Pieces
  • 20-25 Bhavnagri Green Chillies
  • 1 cup Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoons Black peppercorns
  • 1 tablespoon Red chilli powder
  • 2 Lemons
  • 2-3 tablespoons Salt

Method

  1. Heat vinegar in non-stick pan, add black peppercorns and red chilli powder and let it come to a boil. Transfer the mixture into a bowl.
  2. Roughly chop fresh turmeric, slit green chillies and cut the lemons into 8 pieces each.
  3. Take a glass jar, place some turmeric pieces at the bottom. Place some green chillies over them and top with some lemon and salt. Repeat the layers.
  4. Pour the vinegar mixture on the top. Close the jar and set aside for 7 days.
  5. Serve as required.
