Ingredients list for Chilkewali Dal Khichdi

  • 1/2 cup Split green gram with skin soaked
  • 1 cup Rice soaked
  • 1 tablespoon Pure ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Heat a pressure cooker. Add one teaspoon ghee and cumin seeds. When they begin to change colour add rice and dal and stir. Add turmeric powder, salt and mix.
  2. Add four cups of water and cover with the lid. Cook under pressure till two to three whistles are given out. Open the lid when the pressure reduces, mash it up and serve it hot drizzled with the remaining ghee.
