By Sanjeev Kapoor 10 Aug 2015 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Cheddar cheese, Refined flour (maida) Cuisine French Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 0-5 minutes Cook time 31-40 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Advertisment Ingredients list for Cheese Sables 150 grams Cheddar cheese grated 1 1/2 cups Refined flour (maida) a pinch Salt 1/2 teaspoon Paprika powder 1/2 teaspoon Mustard powder 1 teaspoon Cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper powder 1 1/2 cups Chilled butter diced 1 tablespoon Milk 1 teaspoon Black and white sesame seeds Method Advertisment Sieve flour, salt, paprika powder, mustard powder, cumin powder and pepper powder into a bowl. Add butter and mix well. Add cheese and half cup water and mix well. Knead into soft dough. Tap the dough lightly on worktop, roll into a log, wrap in cling film and keep in the refrigerator for two to three hours or till firm. Preheat oven to 180° C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Remove the cling film from the log, brush with milk and coat with sesame seeds. Slice the log into thick discs and arrange on the parchment paper, and spacing them well apart. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for twelve to fifteen minutes. Arrange the sables on a serving plate and serve warm.
