Ever wondered why the phrase “say cheese” is used just before a photograph is clicked? Simply because ‘cheese’ makes one smile! Not only the word but cheese as a food makes a lot of palates happy. It is an inexpensive, versatile and nourishing food. We have our very own Indian version as well as the ones made from soy milk that are even healthier. Ingredients for Cheese Chilli bread Pakora Recipe

  • Mozzarella cheese grated 1/4 cup

  • processed cheese grated 1/4 cup

  • Green chilli finely chopped 1-2

  • White bread slices 8

  • Oil Deep fry

  • Yellow capsicum medium 1/2

  • Red capsicum medium 1/2

  • Green capsicum medium 1/2

  • Salt to taste

  • Gram flour (besan) 1 cup

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Baking soda a pinch

Method

Step 1

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.

Step 2

Take mozzarella cheese in a bowl. Add processed cheese, yellow capsicum, red capsicum, green capsicum, green chillies and salt and mix.

Step 3

Take gram flour in another bowl. Add turmeric powder and some water, whisk to get a semi-thick batter.

Step 4

Add salt and baking soda and whisk again.

Step 5

Spread some cheese mixture on top of 4 bread slices and cover with remaining 4 slices.

Step 6

Cut each prepared bread slices into 2 equal triangles.

Step 7

Dip each bread triangle into the batter and deep-fry in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 8

Serve hot.
