Ingredients list for Chawli chi Bhaji

  • 250 grams Runner beans (chavli) cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons Scraped coconut
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • ½ teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 2-3 Green chillies
  • 1 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Slit green chillies and add, mix and sauté. Add beans and mix well.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons water, mix well, cover and cook till the beans are almost done.
  4. Put coconut, onion, little water and pepper powder in a grinder jar and grind into a coarse paste.
  5. Add salt and ground paste to the pan, mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Serve hot.
