Ingredients list for California Salad

  • 1 large Lettuce torn and soaked in chilled water
  • 4 medium Carrots grated
  • 18-20 Cherry tomatoes halved
  • 4 stalks Celery thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Seedless raisins
  • 1 cup Almonds blanched and halved
  • 4 tablespoons Chironji
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds (til) roasted
  • to taste Salt
  • 15-20 Black peppercorns freshly ground
  • For dressing
  • 3 tablespoon Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoon Honey
  • 4 tablespoons Orange juice

Method

  1. Place all the salad vegetables, raisins, almonds, charoli and sesame seeds in a large bowl.
  2. Place all the dressing ingredients in a small glass jar and shake well to mix.
  3. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss well too mix. Serve chilled, sprinkled with salt and freshly ground peppercorns.
