Ingredients list for Bhaat With Sev

  • 3 cups Cooked rice
  • 1/4 cup Sev
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 4-5 Cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • a pinch Asafoetida
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 15-20 Curry leaves
  • 1/2 Carrot cut into small cubes
  • 5-6 French beans cut into small pieces
  • 1/4 cup Green peas
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 cup Boondi
  • 1 Lemon

Method

  1. Chop onion finely. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cloves, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, asafoetida and onion and sauté for ½ minute.
  2. Add turmeric powder, curry leaves and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add carrot, French beans and green peas and stir.
  4. Add rice, salt, red chilli powder and mix well.
  5. Add boondi and juice of a lemon and mix well.
  6. Transfer into a serving dish.
  7. Sprinkle sev on top and serve hot with chilled yogurt or any raita.
